Loved your last entry on ID cards. I think I'll add a link to this site on my board. Makes for fun reading. You don't mind, do you?

You're right - blantant spamming by me on a site where I clearly didn't belong. Several of the ezboards I went were welcoming with the same kind of 'spamming' I did at Bitchfest. As for being fair - I just reported the facts :) And I shall be in touch - thanks for your help Evil Edna.

ps - I think I'll steer clear of Bithfest :)

Aww now, you weren't being completely fair on us BitchFest posters you know. First off it's not a solely female community - we've got blokes who post as well. Secondly you were spamming. Any of the forums I'm on would have given you the same treatment I'm afraid. If you've got something to contribute you'll be more than welcome at BitchFest and if you want some tips on site pimping without getting grief drop me a line at the mail addy on my diary and I'll send you all the info I've accumulated in my career as a shameless hit whore - there's messageboards which do have plug sections for instance :-D

I did enjoy your venture into bitchfest.
I like writing myself also. Every thing requires you to make some effort to learn I find that there are those who make judgements. Trust does have to be earn
Hey what can I say.

Well YZ - if that is you, (y'know these stats counters can say many things and it doesn't say you've come via the Weblog Review :)), nice to see you again. Thank you for your comments, but in the words of John Wayne - "Don't apologise Quincannon - it's a sign of weakness" - there's no need to apologise, really. People build/write weblogs - you review some. That's how it works. Glad you like the new look.

After several re-visits to your site, I must say that I have changed my mind. Your new layout looks MUCH better. I was too harsh in the review, mainly because your jokes about counting gays on the plane and about the air steward offended me. My apologies.

I don't know how you found my board but I'm glad you did! (I am curious if you care to tell.) I look forward to hearing from you again in the future and I'll keep clicking to read more of your stories! Best of luck with your blog!

Dear Dr P,
First off, it is my job as a reviewer to be honest in my opinions. I'm truly sorry that your blog did not rub off well on me. I'm writing this with no hard feelings, only to clear a few things.
I am not from China. If you click on my info at TWR and squint closer, you will notice that 'Ying Zhu' is followed by 'Chin', which is my name, not 'China'.
As for my website, it has been active for the past year and a half. Unfortunately it is currently
under some changes as www.blogger.com keeps showing error messages. My host is doing something: switching to www.greymatter.com, designing a new layout, etc. If you do not like the layout of that one singular page, complain to my host: dogmati@imap.cc. Our relationship goes something like this: I write, he designs and maintains the site. The prozac picture was not meant to be a joke (did you see any smiley faces or 'ha-ha's?). Readers of my blog will get it, but since you have yet to read one single entry, I understand that you might misunderstand.
About my reviewing: you linked to another website, Libran Ramblings, which I similarly gave a bad review for. If you read the other two reviews of the same site written by two other TWR reviewers, you will notice that we, the three of us, formed more or less the same opinions. This is not an unusual situation: more often than not different reviewers rate the same site similarly. In fact, I gave Libran Ramblings the highest rating out of the the three of us(3.0, 3.0 and 3.5). You can form your own judgements on that, but this is what I think: People are different;
we form different thoughts about things, but when it comes to good or bad, most of us have a universal concept.
Many people respond to bad reviews by saying that "it's my site, for my own pleasure, what do you care?". If that were true, if blogging were only for your own pleasure, why do you keep count of visitors and put up a guestbook? Most importantly, why do you submit your site for a review? If it were for your own enjoyment only, you wouldn't care less if you received a bad review, would you?
People submit sites for reviewing because they want to know what other people think. Like your entry
title suggests, it is, of course, vanity. If you cannot bear genuine opinions, a good way of satisfying
your ego is to ask your friends for their opinions. Friends are there to support you; reviewers are there to review.
I don't think there's such a thing as a 'good' reviewer, just like there are no 'right' or 'wrong' opinions. To put it simply, getting a bad review just means someONE didn't like your blog (or in the case of Libran Ramblings, someTHREE). Judging from your guestbook, obviously a lot of other people like your site. Why get upset over just one of me? I understand the feeling that there is no justice, something is wrong - heck, I've had my share of bad reviews - but I do not understand the need to get catty and bitchy.
If I were young, I would probably be bombarding your guestbook with foul language, or doing something with Google bombs, or maybe 'updating' your review to a rating of 0.0, or all of the above. But I'm not.
I'm sorry if I appear to be bitching here, because that wasn't my intention. I had at first just wanted to clarify that I do not come from China, but I felt that I had to say more.
If you want your blog reviewed by some other TWR reviewer, you can do so by making changes to your blog and waiting for a certain period of time. I wish you better luck next time; that some other reviewer will see what I failed to see and appreciate what I cannot appreciate.
Peace.
